Red Dead Redemption 2 DLSS update has arrived and it has a total of 5 DLSS modes.

DLSS Modes:

Auto

Quality

Balanced

Performance

Ultra Performance

This article/video will focus on how well the RTX 2060 performs with Red Dead Redemption 2 DLSS since it is the only GPU I own.

To get started I wanted to optimize Red Dead Redemption 2 so I used Hardware Unboxed’s optimized settings which aims at getting 60 fps. Also I did change two more settings in the system.xml file for RDR2. The settings used for this benchmark are listed below. And last TAA was only used with DLSS turned off since it cannot be toggled on with DLSS.

In my benchmark results below I did notice that the Auto option seems to be a middle ground between Quality and Balanced. In my opinion the Auto option can replace the Quality option since visually it is the same as the Quality option. Now if you are looking to get over 60 fps then I suggest at minimum choosing Balanced but if you want to squeeze out a few more fps then choosing Performance is good. I do not recommend choosing Ultra Performance since it makes everything look too blurry.
